What Every Entrepreneur Can Learn From Kids

Be-An-EntrepreneurWhen you’re pondering about what it takes to be an entrepreneur, don’t overlook the business savvy of kids. They aren’t always consciously striving to climb the ladder of success. However, the journey from toddler to teen leaves a trail of tested developmental data.
Here we feature the 8 areas of ‘kids’ mindsets:

#1 – Negotiations

How-To-Be-An-Entrepreneur---NegotiateChildren of all ages are masters of the art of negotiating. Watch a child engaging in the bargaining process. Kids learn early on that everything has subjective value and might be considered trade worthy in certain circumstances.
Take stock of your own negotiating inventory.

#2 – Compromise

Young-EntrepreneurReaching agreements results in more rewards than stubbornly wallowing in stalemated disagreements. There is nothing defeating about walking away with a gain. When you want two jumping frogs for your slingshot, keep in mind that frogs aren’t so easy to catch. One frog or no frog? It’s that simple.

#3 – Resilience

Kid-EntrepreneurKids seldom take ‘no’ for an answer. When they hit a wall, they walk around it, climb over it or set up a catapult. They don’t quit until they have exhausted every possible way to achieve their goals. They are driven with passion, determination, ingenuity and optimism. You need all of those to be an entrepreneur.

#4 – Resources

child resourcefulIt’s important to know who has the best, the most, the cheapest, the best delivery time, etc. Kids look through junkyards, yard sales, ‘free’ ads and under rocks. That’s all aside from keeping a list they’ve acquired through the grapevine of those who can offer the best fish bait, fireworks, homework help and bike repairs.

#5 – Funding

chidren making moneyWhen more money is needed, it’s important to be able to turn to more than one funding source. Kids already know this. When one parent turns out empty pockets, they shamelessly hit on the other parent. Benevolent uncles and friends with generous allowances might be willing to offer some temporary financial relief.
You don’t know if you don’t ask.

#6 – Real World Social Networking

kids sport successYou can never have enough contacts. Most kids join activity groups to be with other kids. As the social circle widens through introductions, there is an increase in invitations. The cousin of the friend of the kid on the wrestling team knows the lady who is in charge of auditions for the play you’d love to be in. Hmmm…just maybe.
As we grow older we make less time for social groups like sports, performances and hang outs. There could be a lot of great new info we are missing out on from one another if only we made more time for social networking in the real world, not just online.

#7 – Promote Yourself

Successful-KidsIt’s okay to talk about your talents, goals and successes with pride. The power of word of mouth advertising can start with you. There is a difference between bragging and exuding supreme confidence. Just be sure that you can deliver on your claims. As you show others what you can do, word will get around.
Those who are in need of your talents will find you.

#8 – Dream Big!

Big-DreamsWhile it’s necessary to be realistic, it’s also important to project a positive outcome. It’s okay to want a pony someday even if you currently only have room for a dog house.
Success will allow you to address such minor details.

As you can see from the above tips, it’s sometimes worthwhile to look back as well as to look forward. Remember when you were a kid and unstoppable! Now the risks are greater, the challenge is bigger and the potential rewards make it all worth it. Like all kids, you practiced and honed your business skills. Back then, it was part of being a kid. Now it’s all a part of how to be an entrepreneur in the adult world.

Powerful Tips for Marketing on Facebook!

Powerful Tips for Marketing on Facebook!

The simplest strategy to MAXIMIZE Facebook, tweeter or even youtube is to join groups that are related to your niche.  Once you join the group, become an active participant.  Do not be too pushy with your business!
In addition, be sure to open a Fan Page in your business persona.  It is important that you regularly offer information of value on that page.  Interact with discussions on that page.
So basically, the easiest strategy is to join groups, have your own business page and engage people in conversation.  When the time is right, present your business.
You need to be careful with FaceBook, Tweeter and YouTube as well.  They think they are gods and change the rules all the time.  So keep up to date.

What are the elements of good discussions and fan pages for marketing on FaceBook.
  1. First of all this is “social media”, so be social.  Talk to people as people not as customers or potential customers
  2. Post content of value for FREE!  The more value you add the more people will be interested in you.
  3. Ask question, answer questions.
  4. Tell people about your life outside of business.
  5. Post videos and pictures that are not related to business
  6. Have a nice smiley picture of yourself. People love pictures.
  7. Have an abundance mentality.  Some people will work with you, some won’t, who cares, NEXT!
You should post all your articles, pictures and  videos on your Fan Page.  Make sure it is value add content!
Good content can go viral on FaceBook like nothing you have ever seen!
If you follow the advice in this article you can do well for free with marketing on FaceBook but make no mistake about it, you need to put in a lot of time.

Online Marketing or Offline Marketing?

Online Marketing or Offline Marketing?

In this article, i wanted to share what i know about online versus offline marketing. As many are already familiar with this, you will be amazed that there are still a lot who have no idea what these are, How powerful it is and how clueless we are on how easy it can be.

But first lets define what Online Marketing and Offline Marketing is.

Definition

Offline Marketing is your traditional business done in the traditional manner of advertising. Simply put it, advertisements done through newspaper, magazine, radios, TV adds, banners etc.

Pro's
- Proven system
- Effective in delivery
- Can reach a huge number of demographics

Con's
- Expensive, requires a substantial amount of money.
- could be limited to your area and country only (depending on your initial funds, again going back to "expensive")
- requires a lot of work and people (advertising consultants, staff, paid actors etc)
- ROI or Return of Investment takes longer ( 2 to 3 years by average)

Online Marketing is defined as your business advertised online through social media (number one right now if i may say myself) like Facebook, Online Stores (Multiply.com, Sulit), blogging, tweeting, etc.
Pro's

- This is already a proven system ( samples are coke and pepsi battling it out on the social platform of Facebook)
- Massive potential and reach (again, this is online and the whole world can see this)
- FREE This could be the BEST advantage yet. Most social sites are FREE registration and if not only requires a minimal fee for advertisement edge. Like Facebook, you can spend a budget of a dollar per click but of course the higher the better but just imagine advertising online for $10 - $50 compared to thousands.

- minimal number of people to work with (no need to hire anyone), less expenses
- ROI can be seen in a months time

Con's

- Spamming, be careful with this one. There's a line between sharing/promoting from Spamming and the latter can create negative feedback instead of a good one.
- none that i can think of, given that you follow the successful paths and do your research first (Basics, Guide and always get a successful brand to mirror), your business should hit success in no time.

Now that we have defined the two, the next question that is always asked is, which one is better and why?

In my honest opinion (based on my experience and research as well), I prefer Online Marketing. Why? because of the following reasons:

1) You don't need a lot of funds to start up. When i started, i only needed a few scanned materials, a desktop & internet connection (which is a standard necessity already in any home, if none whats 25 pesos in a computer shop) and creativity. I finished my first Ebay add in less than 30 minutes and that's FREE advertisement.

2) You can start faster if not immediate. Yes, i will admit that it took me at least a few hours to research online about which FREE sites to use, how, success stories and online tips but that's still faster compared to offline which requires, market study, statistics etc and that requires months if not years to complete.

3)More leverage for you. What do i mean? by leveraging on the massive power and visibility factor of the net, your business works for you and therefor gives you more time for the important things. Admit it, we want more time for the important things in life. That's why we saw this opportunity.

4) It works while your asleep, gone in vacation, 24 hours a day with global exposure and the best part with minimal to moderate management on your part. Once you have set a system, it takes care of itself.

5) Massive exposure. This time your not only limited to your peers, friends and family. The globe is your apple here.

Now, its safe to assume that your reading this article because your interested in Online Marketing, Need an extra income, build your own business or simply need help with your own
Online Marketing. First things first, don't be afraid to try  Online Marketing, its simple and easy. Your 1st tool is knowledge and there is plenty in the net though word of caution, there is such a thing as too much information paralysis. Just focus on one successful system and remember that it does take patience and consistency. If you don't hit it on the 1st week, don't just jump to another system. Go back to the basics and improve what you started don't just over haul it immediately.

Next is the How?
For strategies, as i mentioned above. There are a lot in the net but i'll be discussing the basics on a separate article.

So there you go, i Hope i was able to help and enlighten you even in the simplest way about Online and Offline Marketing.

How about you, whats your experience with this two? What better and effective for you? and as always feel free to share your thoughts and this article if it proved helpful to, as we can still help other =)

Cheers!

Top 5 reason why you should consider Multi Level Marketing this 2012

Top 5 reason why you should consider Multi Level Marketing this 2012

What and why are the most common questions that you will always encounter when people hear the word “Multi Level Marketing” or “Networking”.

But believe it or not, even if people say “I know that already” the underlying factor that binds all potential clients is they don’t really know much about it in the first place. Some may have an idea but bottom-line is this people don’t have the correct and valued information about the industry and how it can help them, that’s why they don’t see its potential or value.

So what do people know? Most of the time, people speak  out of the context from what other people told them and sadly most of this second or 3rd hand information are already subjective rather than objective. Some even talk about the industry yet they haven’t tried it or succeed in it, so that’s not a reliable source of information. As I was advice by my mentor early in my career, pay your respects to other people’s opinions yet at the end of the day, if it will not help you get your goals or targets, disregard it. It does make sense; simply put it, if you wanted to be a successful business man, entrepreneur, dancer or what even tickles your fancy, you listen to those who succeeded in their career not to those who failed.

So why would you consider Network Marketing as an alternate career or source of income? There are technically 3 ways to earning money:

1st is you working for another someone else or what we a being an employee.  This is a good idea, if you want to retire at the age of 60, depend of Social security and start building your dreams from here coming from your retirement pay. Statically speaking this was and sadly still the trend for some people.  But there are some people who are able to make it from these demographics but sadly it’s too low and how? They invest their savings so bottom line they still don’t just focus on being an “employee”
Question is, if you can earn and starts early then retire younger would that sounds like a better plan?

2nd Become a Professional like a Doctor or Engineer. Though, this requires a lot of time in studies, masteral’s and trainings not to mention that you’re paying huge sums of money as tuition or fees. Are you even aware that some Nurse undergoing OJT are required to pay a fee just to do their required OJT? That was not the case before. Of course, this is a good investment and plan as well some even calls this passion and that’s great but I have met a lot of people who struggle financially doing their passion.

3rd Is to have your own business or become an Entrepreneur. This could have the highest potential return and key to that Freedom may it be financial and/or time. But remember, in traditional business or any business there are always risk involved as well as large amounts of money to start up your own.

So let’s look into an alternative that you can do while juggling your career that won’t eat a lot of your time and jeopardize what remains of your social life, if not we can improve it.

So you’re asking me “WHY NETWORK MARKETING again?” Let cite Top 5 reasons why you should consider the industry like myself and make a better 2012 compared to your yearly routine. By the way, these are proven and well known facts that we encounter every day.

1.       Recession or Unemployment – This is a proven crisis even in the US and is here to stay. Downsizing, redundancy issues and retrenchment to save resources and limit cost. Some are even moving into technology to increase productivity and unfortunately reduce labor cost.

Here in the Philippines, from my previous industry, these are common practices in the BPO industry. Yes, you may say there are a lot of other companies but were looking at stability of income and long term goals; nobody wants a short term day in day out life anyway.

When you consider a Networking career, yes, you will still start from scratch or basics moving up but the advantage is seen in the principle of Leverage and Exponential growth (I’ll discuss this on a separate article) and as the topic relates, there is no lay off in Networking. The more you work here, the more it gives back. How? A proven effective system and support structure that is not talent or metrics base like your old job.

2.       Network Marketing is the only wealth generating business that does not require you to give up your life savings but still generate large sums of money – Like as mentioned above, this boils down to a proven and effective system. To make it easier to understand, lets cite the example of franchising a successful establishment. Let’s say McDonalds, it’s very popular and guaranteed working because of the System that you need to follow.  In a day, (I forgot the projected earnings that I read before in an article) let’s say it earns 100k, that’s a huge amount but what most people don’t know is the 100k is not your net income since there are the overhead expenses and don’t forget the royalty fee’s your paying for the brand name. NOT TO MENTION! If you have 5 million and more to invest in MCdo in the 1st place. For the average “Pinoy” or employee, that’s impossible.

But in Network Marketing your 8,900 pesos, will give you the same capability like those businesses to earn. It gives you the proven & effective systems to earn twice that amount even as much as 360,000 minus overhead expenses. How? Because you’re leveraging on the System not your talents or skills and at the same time leveraging on a mutual and beneficial partnership between you and your business partners. Not to mention, at this age of social media , you have the power of social online networking at the tips of your fingers.

3.       There will always be Inflation – why bother with circumstances that you can’t control rather let’s focus on what is within your reach of influence or action, your financial capability.

-          Reduce your expenses – learn necessity from luxury, even the rich will tell you “ it doesn’t mean you can buy it, you should”
-          Raise your Financial capability – Don’t just rely on your job, at the end of the day your just a number better than the last person. There is no stability in your boss
-          Make your money work for you – Be Smart, let money work for you rather than you working for money. Invest , you will be surprised when your revenue from network marketing has surpass your basic salary and becomes more stable.

4.       Power of compounding – This might as well be leverage in action. As John Rockefeller said “I would rather earn 1% off a 100 people’s efforts than 100% of my own efforts.”

How? This is how large corporation grow, through the   collective production of employees.
And it’s the same concept with network marketing because you double your effort every       time you sponsor another business partner into your organization. Some will perform less or some will perform more, nevertheless you multiply yourself.

5.       The opportunity to work with “Problem Solvers” – Entrepreneurs are “problem solvers” by nature. They find the solution or supply to the demands of the trend. If you are to start in any business, it’s always wise to work with the “Problem Solvers” who are in the lead of the trend not in the middle or tail. Getting the chance to work with these people not only increases your success rate if not guarantee it but gives you the opportunity to learn, grow and become a “Problem Solver” as well. This is the difference of working with them or for them.

The list may go on but in a nutshell, these are the most common reasons “Why” and you might encounter a lot more. So why 2012 again? Because there is no perfect time in Network Marketing other than today. You will be surprised that a few years back, you had a chance of MLM but didn’t decide on it, now here it is again. Fact is MLM will grow with or with you and it will make a better life for somebody you know so better start with you.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

Suppose I am to build an artificial fishpond and I need to employ someone to excavate the field measuring one square hectare with a depth of one meter. I will pay you Php250.000 for the job using your own shovel. If you start digging now, you could probably cover the whole area at the end of the year. I am offering you a large sum because it is my obligation to compensate a laborious job.

Meanwhile, your friend learned of the offer and quickly applied for the same job. He plans to rent a digging machine for Php50,000 and projects to finish the job in just a week. Do you think he has also done Php250,000 worth of service? Who worked smart and who worked hard?

What you have just pondered on is an application of the Law of Leverage. The digging machine represents the lever to have the economy of movement and to give a minimum input that can achieve maximum results. Leverage creates speed and simplicity of work or activity performance.

HOW? The answer is LEVERAGE! Start leveraging yourself today!
